So - looks like Chiquita isn't out of the forest yet on being held accountable for financing, aiding, and abetting the intimidation, kidnapping and murder in Columbia.

Chiquita paid the FARC to intimidate labor unions and sabotage rival growers as a means of “squashing competition and assuring defendants of an accommodating labor force,” the families said.

On a side note, the idea that these atrocities are linked to FARC - or linked as Marxist in any way - is hysterical. Scratch the surface of this fiasco and it's not hard to see that corporate-funded, US/ School of the Americas-trained, far-RIGHT paramilitary group AUC (United Self Defense Forces of Columbia) is the more likely suspect.

But....it fits the story board of our fight on terrorsim if Chiquita and everyone else involved suggest that the responsible party is FARC...and that Chiquita was just innocent victims trying to protect their farmers and workers in Columbia from the extreme Marxist terrorists. Supposedly this has nothing to do with their bottom line and stockholder's interests.

But perhaps that topic is for an entirely different blog....
